       Seven-Round, Swiss-System Chess Tournament (7 games, no elimination).

Open Section time control (4-Day Schedule): 40/110, SD/30 + 10-second delay (non-delay clocks: 40/110, SD/35);
Under 2000 and Under 1600 Sections time control (4-Day Schedule):  30/90, SD/1 + 5-second delay.

All sections: 3-Day Option, Rounds 1-2,  Game/75 + 5-second delay, then the same as the 4-Day Schedule.

2-Day Option is only for the Under 2000 and the Under 1600 Sections: there is no 2-Day Open.
2-Day Under 2000 and Under 1600 Sections,  Rounds 1-4, Game/45 + 5-second delay, then the same as the 4-Day Schedule.

 

Tournament Site: the historic New Yorker Hotel, 481 Eighth Avenue at 34th Street,  across the street from Penn Station (near 33rd Street PATH trains), New York City!

Three separate playing options!
 

Four-Day Schedule (Open Section: all 7 games are 40/110, SD/30 + 10-second delay (non-delay clocks: 40/110, SD/35;  Under 2000 and Under 1600 Sections: all 7 games are 30/90, then Sudden Death/1 plus 5-second delay).  On-site late registration ends Friday 6:00 pm.
Round times:  Friday 7:00 pm;  Saturday 12 pm,  6 pm;  Sunday 12 pm, 6 pm;  Monday 10 am, 3:30 pm.


Three-Day Schedule (Rounds 1-2 are Game/75 plus 5-second delay),  on-site late registration ends Saturday 10:00 am.
Round times:  Saturday 11 am,  2:30 pm, 6 pm;  Sunday 12 am, 6 pm;  Monday 10 am, 3:30 pm.


 

Two-Day Schedule (Only for Under 2000 and Under 1600 Sections-- THERE IS NO 2-DAY OPEN), Rounds 1-4 are Game/45 plus 5-second delay),  on-site late registration ends Sunday 9:30 am.
Round times:  Sunday 10 am, 12 pm,  2 pm,  4 pm,  6 pm;  Monday 10 am, 3:30 pm. 
 

All schedules merge and compete for the same prizes within each section.

     On-site registration is only for players who have not registered in advance! Players who have already registered in advance DO NOT also need to register on site-- just be at the tournament in time for your first game!

      Half-point byes:  limit of 3; Open Section must commit before Round 2, other sections commit before Round 4.  Re-entry: $50 (except no re-entry from Open Section to Open Section).

      Official May USCF ratings used (and CCA minimum ratings, if any, may be used);
unoffical ratings at uschess.org are usually used for players who would otherwise be unrated.  Current U.S. Chess Federation membership is required to participate (in any USCF-rated tournament), and membership dues may be paid when registering for tournament.
          

     There is a $15 service charge for each player entry fee refund until at least one hour before game time.  USCF Membership dues are forwarded to the USCF-- membership dues are not refundable.

    FRIDAY MAY 24th        -        NEW YORKER RATED BEGINNERS' OPEN!

       4-Rounds, Swiss-System, dual-rated:  rated in both the USCF's  regular (slow) rating system and in the Quick Chess Rating System!  The time control, if either player has a time-delay clock, is 30 minutes per player, plus 5-second delay (G/30, d5). If neither player has a time delay clock, the time control is  30 minutes per player (Game/30, d/0).

      This tournament is open to players rated Under 1200 or players who are not yet rated in any country!  Entry Fee: $20,  free if joining or re-joining USCF with magazine at tournament,  free if also entering the New Yorker Open (4-Schedule with Round 1 bye, or the 3-Day or 2-Day Schedule),  free to specified Greater New York Scholastic prizewinners!  

Trophies awarded to the three top-scoring players!

 

       Register at-site only, at the historic New Yorker Hotel (SW corner of 34th Street and Eighth Avenue, New York City) before 6:30 pm.
       Round times: 7:00-8:15-9:30-10:45 pm.

    5-Double-Round Swiss-System (10 games, 1 with White and 1 with Black each round), 5 minutes per player (Game/5, d/0)!
     Entry Fee:
$40,  $20 if rated Under 1800, GMs free ($25 from prize),   free to specified Greater New York Scholastic prizewinners!
 

$$1,000 prize fund,  based on 40 paid entries (Under 1800 count half),
( A MINIMUM OF HALF EACH PRIZE IS GUARANTEED!)

       Byes OK Rounds 1-2 (limit one bye if Under 2000).  USCF Blitz-rated  (will not affect your Regular Rating, only your USCF Blitz Rating), but prizes and pairings based on higher of Regular or Blitz or Quick ratings. CCA Minimum Ratings may be used at TD's discretion.
