Dear New York State Girls’ Championship
Participant,
Welcome to the Ninth
Edition of the Annual
New York State Girls’ Chess Championship!
Please
check out the tournament website at www.chessgirls.win for detailed tournament information,
game times, playing locations, team room locations, prizes, pairings, standings
and more.
Please check
the list of advance entries posted here and on our website to see that you
are listed in the correct section, and that your
school and grade are also listed correctly.
Please notify us if there are corrections needed, or if you will
NOT be playing the next game, AT LEAST ONE HOUR BEFORE THE GAME.
You can email: director@chessgirls.win to contact us.
Players can lose their games on forfeit if they do not provide
us with sufficient notice that they will not be playing the next round.
Please note on the website which building
entrance to go to on the day of your event (please allow extra time to check in
with School Security in the morning for access to the building). The One-Day sections, playing on
Saturday or Sunday, will enter at the 4 West 93rd Street entrance. The Two-Day sections, playing both Saturday and Sunday,
will enter at the 36 West 93rd Street entrance (both building entrances
are between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue, on West 93rd Street).
On the tournament website, you will also see a link to the
website where we will post the pairings and standings for each round: https://www.kingregistration.com/results/nystategirls25
We also encourage you to take advantage of
the expert review of your games by Grandmaster Michael Rohde-- free to
our tournament participants! More details are listed on our website.
Reminder: the tournament
supplies chess sets and boards for use during the event, but not clocks for all
games! Please bring a digital time-delay clock to use in the tournament (it’s a good idea to practice
setting your clocks for the correct time limit on your game, so you will be all
ready to start).
We invite you to join the Tournament What’s App Group, using the
link below, to be kept up to date on general announcements and important
messages: NY State Girls Championship What's App Group!
Thank You for being a part of
this historic event— a record turnout for any USCF-rated girls chess
tournament!
We
look forward to seeing you this weekend!
